Sole Godz Care School Knowledge protects the rotation

Know the
material.
Make the move.

Real sneaker care starts before the brush touches the shoe. Identify the material, isolate the problem, use the lightest effective method, and let the pair recover.

THE FOUR RULES

  1. 01Identify the material
  2. 02Test before treating
  3. 03Use less moisture
  4. 04Air-dry with patience
Before wear

Protect.

Plan for weather, fit, crease pressure, and the material before the pair leaves the box.

After wear

Reset.

Brush off dry dirt, air the shoe, and handle new marks before they settle.

Before storage

Recover.

Dry completely, support the shape, and keep heat, moisture, and sunlight away.

Material field guide Six essential routines

Every upper
moves different.

Use these as starting principles. The final Sole Godz packaging and product pages will always carry the exact directions for each formula.

01

Smooth leather

Clean in small sections.

Leather can handle routine care, but soaking and hard scrubbing can push dirt deeper and dry the finish.

  1. Remove laces and dry-brush loose debris.
  2. Use a lightly damp tool and work one panel at a time.
  3. Wipe away residue before it dries on the upper.
  4. Air-dry away from direct heat, then relace.
Never move: Avoid saturation, household bleach, and heaters.
02

Mesh + knit

Follow the weave.

Open fibers trap dust easily and can snag when you attack them with a stiff brush.

  1. Support the upper from inside the shoe.
  2. Lift surface dirt with a soft, dry brush.
  3. Blot cleaner through the knit instead of grinding it in.
  4. Stuff with clean paper and let the pair dry naturally.
Never move: Avoid aggressive circular scrubbing and machine heat.
03

Suede + nubuck

Start dry. Stay patient.

Dyed nap can darken, bleed, or flatten when it meets too much moisture.

  1. Confirm the material and test an unseen area.
  2. Use a suede brush in one consistent direction.
  3. Lift small marks with the correct suede eraser.
  4. Reset the nap only after the material is fully dry.
Never move: Avoid soaking, random detergents, and spot-treating without a test.
04

Clear + icy soles

Control the comeback.

Translucent rubber changes with wear, oxidation, heat, and storage. Restoration should be deliberate, not rushed.

  1. Clean off surface dirt before any restoration step.
  2. Protect the upper from the treatment area.
  3. Follow the exact product timing and coverage directions.
  4. Inspect between sessions instead of over-processing.
Never move: Avoid unverified chemical mixes and unattended heat or UV exposure.
05

Shape + creases

Protect before the first wear.

Fit, movement, storage, and the shoe's construction all affect how the toe box changes.

  1. Choose a shield that does not force an unsafe fit.
  2. Pair protection with correctly sized footwear.
  3. Remove shields when airing or deep-cleaning the pair.
  4. Use shape support during storage without over-stuffing.
Never move: Avoid forcing a shield into a shoe that already feels tight.
06

Storage + rotation

Let the pair recover.

A clean shoe can still age badly when it stays damp, hot, compressed, or exposed to sunlight.

  1. Air the pair after wear before closing it in a box.
  2. Keep storage cool, dry, and away from direct sun.
  3. Separate shoes from loose dyes and dirty soles.
  4. Inspect the rotation monthly for moisture or material change.
Never move: Avoid sealed damp storage, garages, trunks, and heat vents.

Rotation rhythm Care is a routine

Five minutes now.
More wears later.

Every wear

Air + inspect

Check new marks, remove dry debris, and let moisture escape.

Every 3–5 wears

Target clean

Handle the outsole, midsole, and visible problem areas before buildup spreads.

Monthly

Deep rotation check

Inspect materials, shields, laces, insoles, storage, and protection coverage.

Before shelving

Reset + support

Clean, dry fully, support the shape, and store away from heat and sun.

Care note

Material dyes, finishes, age, prior treatments, and construction vary. Always test a discreet area. Stop if color transfers, texture changes, adhesive loosens, or the material reacts unexpectedly.
